Boating, fishing, and having fun are some of the popular activities the Florida keys offer. In my opinion, Key West is a great destination for adventurers who like to drive, eat, and explore. The keys are so close that I'm able to drive there in less than 3 hours from where I live.
Key West is not only one of the last Florida Key islands, but also among the best places to experience the tropical island vibe. This island also offers a number of activities.

Southernmost point
A buoy at the is a must. In addition to marking the south-most point of the continental United States, it is 90 miles away from Cuba - you heard it right!
Show up early to avoid waiting in a line to take a selfie with the buoy.
Smathers Beach

This beach is characterized by clear water and white sand. Swimming, snorkeling, parasailing, and soaking up the sun are all great activities. Since you will be out in the sun for most of the day, remember to apply plenty of sun protection lotion.
Ernest Hemingway's home and museum
If you only have time for a day trip, Ernest Hemingway's home and museum should not be missed. Ernest Hemingway is a famous American novelist, short-story writer, and journalist. For those of you who might not know, he writes short stories, novels, and journalism. Tours of the house and garden are available for 30 minutes. I recommend visiting early to avoid the crowds.
Truman waterfront park
Truman Waterfront Park is a great place for families. It has a number of playgrounds.
Mallory Square.
It is impossible to leave this island without visiting Mallory Square. Sunsets in key west are the most beautiful I've ever seen. Seeing the sun go down here is so mesmerizing that residents and visitors gather together. You can share a sip or two of wine with your loved one or enjoy a 2 hour Adults only Champagne Celebration Sunset Cruise. Interested in eating like a local? Hogfish bar and grill is the place to be. Great local food can be found here. Their fish dip and hogfish tacos are my favorites. I should also mention that it's somewhat hidden and the area does not have air conditioning.
